Practical Nutrition Workshops for Early Childhood Communities

Healthy eaters become healthy children - and healthy children are happier, more engaged & learn better.

Positive, informed food culture & confident educators and families make that possible.

Foundations for Health offers a range of nutrition workshops designed specifically for early childhood services, supporting both staff and families with realistic, evidence-based strategies that fit real life, real budgets, and real children.

No guilt. No fads. Just practical tools that make a difference.

Developed by a fully qualified, clinical nutritionist – with a background in early childhood education and real-world parenting experience (with possibly the fussiest child ever!)

Why Nutrition Education Matters in Early Learning

Early childhood is a critical window for:

  • Lifelong eating habits

  • Physical growth and brain development

  • Emotional regulation and behaviour

  • Family wellbeing and connection

Educators and families are doing their best, but they’re often overwhelmed by conflicting advice, time pressure, and picky eating challenges. These workshops cut through the noise and empower your community with clear, supportive guidance they can actually use.

Workshops for Educators & Staff

Build Confidence. Meet Standards. Support Children Better.

Our staff workshops are tailored to early learning environments and align with the National Quality Framework (NQF), particularly:

  • QA2 – Children’s Health and Safety

  • QA6 – Collaborative Partnerships with Families

Educator Workshops Cover:

Child nutrition basics (ages 2–10)

  • Nutrition, behaviour & energy levels

  • Food additives & ultra processed foods

  • Supporting positive food relationships (no pressure, no bribery)

  • Role modelling healthy attitudes toward food

  • Fussy eating: what’s normal vs when to worry

  • Responding to family questions with confidence

Workshops are engaging, non-judgemental, and practical - designed to support educators, not add to their workload.

Workshops for Families

Empower Parents Without Overwhelm

Family workshops provide parents and carers with reassurance, clarity, and simple strategies they can implement immediately.

Family Sessions Include:

  • What healthy eating looks like for young children

  • Portion sizes, snacks, and balanced meals

  • Food additives & ultra processed foods

  • Nutrition myths vs facts

  • Managing picky eating without stress

  • Reducing mealtime battles

  • Supporting children’s independence with food

  • Food based immune support

Sessions are inclusive, culturally respectful, and focused on progress — not perfection.

Meet Kelly…

Hi I’m Kelly, qualified nutritionist and mum of three.

Before studying nutrition I worked for almost 15yrs in the Early Childhood industry across a variety of roles including leadership & advisory positions.

After working through my own kid's food intolerance issues, my eyes were opened to the profound impact food has on our health, and I knew I needed to share this with everyone & help them make these connections too.

In addition to educating the community via my various workshops, I also work clinically with clients to address health symptoms & conditions, with a particular interest in supporting those with autoimmune disorders.
